The upper face area consists of the forehead, eyebrows and upper eyelids. Rejuvenation procedures that can be performed in this region include open or endoscopic forehead lift surgeries, temple lift procedures, eyebrow lift surgeries, eyebrow hangers, upper eyelid surgeries (upper blepharoplasty) and botox applications.<\/p>

People whose eyebrow level decreases as the age progresses and those who have structurally low eyebrows are candidates for this type of surgery. Some patients come only with the complaint of piling up on the upper eyelid, but as a result of the examination, it can be determined that the problem is due to the low eyebrows. In such patients, performing eyelid surgery without interfering with the eyebrows may give an inadequate aesthetic result by further shortening the eyebrow-eye distance.<\/p>

Many techniques have been described for eyebrow lifting. Which method to choose is determined by the shape of the eyebrows, their location, the anatomical structure of the patient and the wishes of the patient. Botox may be sufficient in patients who want to reduce the accumulation at the edge of the eye and lift the eyebrow edges slightly.<\/p>

In slightly more advanced cases, hangers can be made with rope. Eyebrows are hung with threads sent through the hair, but long-term results should not be expected from such procedures.<\/p>

A more permanent technique to lift the edges of the eyebrows and reduce the lumps at the edge of the eye is temporal lift. In this method, it is performed through a short incision made through the scalp. Forehead lift procedures can be performed in people whose forehead skin is loosened, horizontal wrinkles on the forehead have increased, the level of eyebrows has decreased and the eyebrow-eye distance has narrowed.<\/p>

Forehead lift is often performed through short incisions made in the hair and with the help of an endoscope (camera). The entire forehead, eyebrows and edges of the eyes peel off from under the bone membrane (periosteum). This procedure is called subperiosteal endoscopic forehead lifting. After peeling, the head bones are fixed. If deemed necessary during endoscopic forehead lifting, the muscles that cause us not to frown are also cut and frowning can be stopped permanently. This is the most effective and permanent method of forehead lift and eyebrow lifting.<\/p>

During upper eyelid surgeries, the eyebrow can be hung up by entering through the incision in the eyelid. This method may be preferred especially in male patients with hair loss.<\/p>

Eyebrow straps and temple stretching procedures can be performed under local anesthesia. Endoscopic forehead lift is performed in the operating room environment, under general anesthesia or heavy sedatives (sedation).<\/p>

The most important problem of eyebrow straps is that the duration of action is short. Long-lasting swelling after endoscopic forehead lift may make patients nervous, but this is also temporary. There may be temporary paralysis in eyebrow movements after forehead and temple stretching.<\/p>

Although rare, permanent eyebrow paralysis may be experienced. When there is such a problem, Botox is applied to the other side to create symmetry. Problems such as excessive lifting of eyebrows and being asymmetrical may also be encountered. The effect of eyebrow straps can last for 1-2 years, depending on the thickness of the skin and the level of the eyebrows. The results of temple stretching are longer-lasting, but in those with thick and heavy skin, there is some dropping.
