When people experience excess weight loss, they may face various fattening and sagging in the upper leg areas, also called thighs, after pregnancy periods or with advancing age. Because the skin in the thigh, that is, in the upper leg area, is too thin and is very prone to problems such as sagging or cracking. Especially this situation can be seen in patients who have lost a lot of weight. This situation can both cause the patient to be aesthetically dissatisfied and cause the patient to be uncomfortable while walking and disrupt his comfort.
Among the reasons that direct patients to leg aesthetic operations such as thigh (upper leg) stretching can be shown that the patient is uncomfortable due to friction that may occur even while walking. This problem may also increase the risk of patients being exposed to problems such as diaper rash or fungus in the summer months. One of the methods that can be applied for the treatment of these problems is the vaser liposuction method. However, when the scope of the problem expands, sometimes this method alone may not be enough. Therefore, the patient can be stretched to the groin within the scope of thigh lift (upper leg lift) operation as leg aesthetics.
However, in order to perform such an operation on the patient, both the quality of the skin in the patient’s discomfort area and the patient’s tolerance to the incision marks that may occur are important. When the patient comes with such a complaint, a detailed examination is performed on the patient. In this examination, both the patient’s expectation from the thigh lift (upper leg lift) operation is learned and the quality of the skin and excess fat in the thigh area of the patient are examined. If there is only fat in the area and sagging does not appear, sometimes vaser liposuction application alone may be sufficient. With this application, upper leg thinning and leg tightening can be provided.
If the patient has a significant sagging problem with fat in the thigh area, the patient will need to perform thigh lift (upper leg lift) surgery. If the doctor deems it necessary, he can also perform thigh lift (upper leg lift) surgery by supporting it with vaser liposuction treatment. Thus, both leg tightening, upper leg thinning and general recovery can be achieved in the region. This operation is performed under general anesthesia.
Thigh Stretching is the removal of skin abundance and lubrication on the upper and inner side of the thighs. Although it provides some thinning in the leg, its effect is mainly limited to the inner side of the thigh. It can be said that this method can provide a radical solution for the patient’s problem. However, of course, in the decision to perform thigh lift (upper leg lift) surgery, the patient’s opinion about the skin quality and the incision scars that will occur will also be important. The application of this method in patients with excess skin abundance and lubrication leads to prolongation of the scar, sliding down over time, which leads to deformation of the sexual organ.
For this reason, in most of the patients, the excess skin is removed in such a way as to leave a vertical scar. The vertical incision is placed so that it remains on the inner side of the leg, descending from the inner side of the groin to the knee. The scar is not visible when the patient is standing. Although it may turn into a line scar over time, thigh lift is an operation that leaves scars. After thigh lift (upper leg lift) surgery, the patient does not suffer from severe pain. For the pain that the patient will experience, the painkillers to be given by the doctor will be sufficient.
Since it is a surgery performed directly on the patient’s legs, the patient will need to avoid very intense movements for at least a week. In the same way, it will be very important to protect the sewing area. As in many aesthetic surgery operations, the patient will need to use a corset for a few weeks in thigh lift (upper leg lift) operation. Not paying attention to hygiene in the suture area, not resting enough and making heavy movements may cause the patient to experience problems related to the suture area. Patients are usually sent home the same day.
The first 2 days there will be a bandage over the seams. After two days, patients can take a bath. Since all of the sutures are under the skin, there is no need to remove stitches. In the first 3 weeks, patients should not stand and walk much. After the third week, sports are allowed, except for running. After the sixth week, all kinds of activities are allowed.
After the stretching process, the aging process continues and there is some loosening in the thighs. Weight gain and loss can accelerate this process. However, it never returns to its original state. It is important for patients to pay attention to their weight and to have regular sports and skin care in order to protect the result obtained by surgery. When thigh stretching is done with a flat watch, problems such as opening wounds, long-lasting swelling in the leg, expansion and sliding down of the scars over time may occur.
However, the most annoying problem is the deformities that may occur in the vagina. Especially when the patient opens his legs, the scar can open the lips of the vagina outwards. For this reason, thigh tensions to be made with vertical scars should be preferred. The biggest problem with vertical scarring is scars. Since the marks remain on the inner side of the legs, they are not visible in the face view. When they heal smoothly, after 6 months the scars are greatly faded, but they never disappear completely. Patients should be warned about the scar. In order to hide the scars, some patients have tattoos in the future.
